All Coaches, Divers & Caregivers associated with "High Dive Champions" who enter the pool must be vaccinated or have had a negative PCR test in the last 7 days.
Coach Mike Darland will need to be sent proof of vaccination in advance of the first practice in order to participate for the Session. This needs to arrive to Coach Darland by Tuesday, Sept. 7th 2021.
For all of those who have not been vaccinated, proof of a negative PCR test needs to be forwarded to Coach Darland by Sunday evening prior to the next weeks practice (to practice on any days that next week, Monday through Sunday). This has to be done on every Sunday evening through the Session.
For the first week of practice, starting Wednesday Sept. 8th 2021, a negative PCR needs to be received by Coach Darland by Tuesday, Sept. 7th 2021. Directions on how to get a PCR test are detailed in the section below.
Masks are mandated in the pool. Divers will take their masks off only when directed by coaches when the divers are going to dive.
Socially distancing will be practiced. Coaches will direct divers to keep 6 feet apart throughout the practices. Tape on the pool deck will help divers know where to stand when waiting in line for their turn.
Divers are asked to bring their own water bottles.
Divers are asked to bring their own yoga mat (for stretching and diving drills at the beginning of practice).
Divers are asked to wear their swimsuit underneath their sweats when coming to practice, and to bring their own towel.
Locker rooms will not be used, so at the end of practice, divers with dry themselves, and their suits off and then dress back up in their sweats to return home. Please wear shoes or sandals when returning to your car for your ride home.
One of our team's parents is a Medical Doctor and has provided me with an easy way to get a PCR test at no cost, if you have insurance. Her name is Dr. Oksana Lekarev. She gave me the directions listed below to pass on to team members. If you have any trouble or would like to talk directly to Dr. Lekarev, text her at (973) 727-7806 and she will call you back as soon as she is available.
TO GET A PCR TEST THERE ARE SEVERAL OPTIONS...
Go to samedayhealth.com
You can click on this link http://samedayhealth.com
When you get to this site you will need to select "New York", and then you will select "White Plains". This will take you to other questions in order to make an appointment at this White Plains location, which is a convenient drive from the Purchase College pool.
You can also schedule a "stop in" or "drive through" COVID PCR test online through many CVS or Walgreens pharmacies. Testing is fully covered by insurance. You will need to answer a questionnaire which is straightforward. However, according to one of our parents, there is one kind of tricky question which is "are you getting this test to stop or prevent the spread of Covid?" You need to answer yes to this question or your insurance will not cover the cost.
Feel free to call Coach Mike Darland if you have any questions
